Faction Authority Perks
Faction Authority Perks
IL-specific extensions of the Organizational category from AX.C.09.02. These perks reference the specific legal and institutional frameworks of the five Power Pillars. Each perk is org-affiliated, the listed professions are the primary intended assignments, but cross-org characters who have established standing with an org may qualify at GM discretion.
Relationship to Core Organizational Perks: These Setting Perks replace (not stack with) the equivalent-Stage Core Organizational perk for their assigned professions. A Linden-Green Arbiter who takes Axiomatic Injunction at Stage 2 does not also take Core Organizational Authority, the Setting Perk is the more precisely calibrated version of the same capability.
Contract Memory | Faction Authority | Stage 1 | Free Action | Self | Session
The character retains complete and precise recall of every Juris-Axiomatic contract they have read or participated in. In a world where contractual language determines physical law via Covenant sealing, this is a professional survival skill.
After reading any Juris-Axiomatic contract, retain perfect recall of its exact terms indefinitely. May recite any clause as a Free Action without a Lore roll.
When presented with a new contract, identify non-standard clauses, hidden obligations, and missing standard protections as a Free Action, no Lore roll required for standard analysis. This replaces the Threshold 2 Lore check that non-specialists require for the same task. For contracts that are deliberately obfuscated or written in archaic legal language, a Lore + Generational Logistics Focus roll at Threshold 2 (rather than 3) is still required.
Additionally, once per session, recall a specific precedent from LGT arbitration history that is directly relevant to a current negotiation or dispute. The GM must acknowledge the precedent's existence and approximate relevance, though they determine the degree of applicability.
Limit: Contract identification is always active. Precedent recall once per session.
Profession assignments: LGT Linden-Green Arbiter (Stage 1), LGT Resonance Notary (Stage 1), LGT Temporal Strategist (Stage 1)
Axiomatic Injunction | Faction Authority | Stage 2 | Primary Action | Single target or transaction | Long Rest
The character may invoke formal Linden-Green Accord authority to legally suspend a specific action, transaction, or contract for 24 hours pending Juris-Axiomatic review. No Talent roll required; this is a procedural right of certified LGT representatives, not a persuasion attempt.
The suspension is enforceable in all LGT signatory jurisdictions. Security personnel, financial institutions, and legal bodies within signatory nations are required to comply with an Injunction from a credentialed representative. Physical resistance to a legitimate Injunction constitutes criminal obstruction under Accord law.
Resistance requires a counter-Injunction from an LGT Arbiter of equal or higher standing, which takes time to obtain and is itself publicly recorded. The party subject to the Injunction may resist physically or flee, but cannot legally act on the suspended item until the Injunction expires or is overturned.
Limits: Requires LGT credentials in good standing (revocation means immediate loss of this perk). Does not function against Halfling Burrow-State entities operating under Sovereignty of Depth doctrine, or against parties already in active violation of LGT Accord. Once per Long Rest, issuing an Injunction requires formal documentation that takes time to prepare.
Profession assignments: LGT Linden-Green Arbiter (Stage 2), LGT Resonance Notary (Stage 2)
Covenant of the Accord | Faction Authority | Stage 3 | Primary Action | Near range | Full Rest
The character can seal a Covenant that carries the full institutional weight of the Linden-Green Accords, not merely the Harmonic discomfort of a standard Covenant, but the organized enforcement machinery of the world's most powerful legal body.
This perk does not replace or enhance the Temporal Harmonics Covenant Discipline. It is a professional capability for non-practitioner LGT officials, or an enhancement for practitioners: a formally documented Accord Covenant that triggers LGT arbitration proceedings automatically on violation, in addition to any Harmonic discomfort.
For non-practitioners: seal an Accord Covenant without a Harmonic roll. The Covenant has no Axiomatic discomfort component; it is purely a legal instrument. However, violation triggers immediate LGT arbitration, automatic financial penalties, and potential criminal proceedings in signatory jurisdictions. Participants must willingly sign. Duration: permanent until formally dissolved by mutual consent or LGT ruling.
For Temporal Harmonics practitioners: when sealing a Covenant with a successful Harmonic roll, declare it an Accord Covenant. Add automatic LGT arbitration to the Harmonic discomfort on violation, without requiring the LGT Signet Focus. The Signet Focus still provides its +2D bonus; this perk provides the legal weight as a professional capability separate from equipment.
Limit: Once per Full Rest. Requires LGT certification in good standing.
Profession assignments: LGT Linden-Green Arbiter (Stage 3), LGT Resonance Notary (Stage 3)
Infrastructure Override | Faction Authority | Stage 2 | Primary Action | Single infrastructure system | Long Rest
As a credentialed BVHI representative, the character may issue a legally binding halt-order on any piece of infrastructure that BVHI built, maintains, or holds operational contracts for, access points, transit tunnels, data cable junctions, vault mechanisms, deep-drill operations, power routing systems.
The halt suspends target operation for up to 48 hours without requiring on-site presence. The Override is transmitted through BVHI's internal authorization system; this is not a hack or a bluff, it is a legitimate professional tool. Resistance requires senior BVHI authorization (Clancorp executive level or above), which takes time and is publicly logged.
The character must be able to credibly identify the specific BVHI system being halted and have grounds for the halt that would survive internal audit (safety concern, contract violation, unauthorized modification). Using an Override without valid grounds constitutes Clancorp misconduct, a serious cultural and legal violation.
Limit: Once per Long Rest. Requires active BVHI Clancorp standing.
Profession assignments: BVHI Seismic Engineer (Stage 2), BVHI Sub-Terran Operator (Stage 2), BVHI Deep-Clancorp Liaison (Stage 2)
Certification Flag | Faction Authority | Stage 2 | Primary Action | Single device, system, or practitioner | Long Rest
The character may file an NTC compliance flag against any networked device, system, or Technomancy practitioner operating within NTC-certified infrastructure. The flagged entity is legally required to cease operations or submit to full audit within 24 hours under NTC Accord terms.
In jurisdictions with active NTC licensing agreements (most developed nations), local law enforcement will enforce the flag against non-compliant entities. The flag is publicly logged in the NTC Compliance Registry and remains on record even if resolved.
The flag cannot be applied to Halfling Hearth-Net infrastructure, which operates outside NTC jurisdiction. It cannot be applied to non-networked physical systems (BVHI mechanical infrastructure, LGT paper records). For human-operated targets (flagging a practitioner rather than a device), the practitioner must be operating in a licensed professional capacity, flagging a private individual's personal device requires escalation to NTC Legal.
Limit: Once per Long Rest. Requires NTC certification credentials. Filing a fraudulent Certification Flag (without compliance grounds) constitutes NTC charter violation and triggers the character's own audit.
Profession assignments: NTC Logic-Binder (Stage 2), NTC Axiom Architect (Stage 2), NTC Network Fixer (Stage 2)
Shadow-Census Pull | Faction Authority | Stage 2 | Primary Action | Single named target | Long Rest
The character may request a targeted HIA intelligence package on a specific named individual or organization through secure Hearth-Net channels.
Within 24 hours (or by the start of the next session in campaign time), the GM provides one of the following, based on HIA file currency and depth:
- Their known financial connections: primary accounts, significant transactions in the last six months, creditor relationships, and any flagged irregularities in HIA files
- Their current physical location (if they maintain any digital footprint or have been observed in HIA surveillance areas): last confirmed location and movement pattern
- Their most significant assessable vulnerability: the specific pressure point HIA analysts have identified, a relationship, a debt, an exposure, a secret
The information is accurate as of the HIA's last update, which may be weeks old for low-priority targets. The GM should signal whether the information feels current. Requesting a package on a Halfling national or an HIA operative triggers an internal flag; this is noted and may have consequences.
Limit: Once per Long Rest. Requires active HIA standing and current clearance level. Each Pull is logged internally.
Profession assignments: HIA Signal Scryer (Stage 2), HIA Shadow Liaison (Stage 2), HIA Marginal Operative (Stage 2)
Syndicate Vouching | Faction Authority | Stage 1 | Free Action | Self + party | Session
The character invokes their NVS network standing to open doors across Human-controlled markets, trade corridors, and grey-zone infrastructure for the current session.
For the session, the party gains access to: - NVS-affiliated vendor networks: above-market supply access, including equipment that is technically on restricted lists in the local jurisdiction, at a 15% premium that reflects the NVS's willingness to move it - Safe house access: one NVS-associated secure location in the current region, provided it has not been compromised - Transportation channels: one trip via NVS freight or logistics network, no questions asked about cargo
The Vouching creates an obligation in the NVS ledger. The GM notes what was accessed and introduces a call-in at a dramatically appropriate later moment, not punitive, but the NVS network expects reciprocity. The nature of the obligation scales to what was accessed: a safe house overnight is a small favor owed; moving restricted cargo is a significant one.
Limit: Once per session. The obligation carries forward regardless of how many sessions pass.
Profession assignments: NVS Syndicate Fixer (Stage 1), NVS Market Disruptor (Stage 1), NVS Rapid-Response Merc (Stage 1)
